In the Philippines, LRWC will introduce the online sportsbook GSports.
Leisure and Resorts World Corporation (LRWC), a major gaming operator in the Philippines, purportedly said that it has been granted permission to introduce a new retail and online sportsbetting business in the country.
Inside Asian Gaming states that the Manila-listed company is already responsible for managing a statewide network of eGaming facilities on behalf of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCor) regulator through its AB Leisure Exponent Incorporated branch. After President Rodrigo Duterte recently lifted a prohibition on such ventures, the source explained that the corporation is reportedly debating whether or not to revive its ambition to establish a big integrated casino resort to the little island of Boracay.
Possibility of PIGO:
LRWC has apparently announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Total Gamezone Xtreme Incorporated, has been awarded an iGaming licence under the Philippine Inland Gaming Operator (PIGO) system, and that it plans to debut its GSports service before the end of the year. The sportsbook's operator has supposedly announced that bets on "professional, collegiate, and other sports leagues" from across the world would be available to local punters.
A statement from LRWC was reportedly read aloud...
"GSports will provide a safe and secure betting platform, shielding users' private data using cutting-edge encryption methods. All of its betting goods and services will be audited and regulated by PAGCor, ensuring fairness and a high-quality playing experience.
Implications for the Coronavirus:
Inside According to Asian Gaming, the PIGO plan was introduced late last year to assist Philippine land-based casinos in making up for gaming earnings that were being lost due to the coronavirus outbreak. Local retail sportsbook operator MegaSportsWorld and the Indian company Jade Entertainment and Gaming Technologies Incorporated have both begun using the programme after it was reportedly adopted by the massive Manila resorts Solaire Resort and Casino, Resorts World Manila, and Okada Manila.
Satisfaction at home:
According to reports, the PIGO system is allowing licenced operators to provide a variety of iGaming entertainment options to adults who have signed up, including online casino games, sportsbetting, and slots. The source went on to say that after paying the corresponding tax rate of around 42%, clients may enjoy these services, which also include a wide variety of live-dealer attractions, from anywhere in the country of over 7,600 islands.
